CONTENT

The Office of Immigration and Nationality has applied for and been granted emergency financial assistance within the framework of European Refugee Fund (ERF) and Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) three times over the past years. Please find the brief descriptions of actions taken under the aforementioned funds.

 

 

EMERGENCY MEASURES FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE HUNGARIAN ASYLUM RECEPTION CAPACITY AND FOR THE SUPPORT OF ADMINISTRATION PROCEDURES – 2015

Project Aims

 

This project has been implemented and co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the emergency assistance program 2015 of Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

The project has aimed at maintaining the proper performance of and enhancing the capacities of the Hungarian asylum and reception system in response to the challenges posed by the high migration pressure Hungary faced in 2015.

 

 

Main Actions

 

 

Within the framework of this project, ICT equipment including fingerprint readers, PC work stations as well as servers destined to support the daily work of asylum officers have been procured and installed at the OIN Headquarters in Budapest and OIN Regional Directorates. Besides these, bedlinen, mattresses, electronic household appliances, kitchen items have been purchased and delivered to OIN’s reception facilities in Bicske and Vámosszabadi to ensure the continuous supply and replacement of consumable items. By procuring office furniture, OIN intends to support the client service activities of the Regional Directorates.

 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE – CAPACITY-BUILDING OF ASYLUM AND HUMAN RESOURCES AIMING AT RESPOND EFFECTIVELY TO MIGRATION PRESSURE IN HUNGARY

Project Aims

 

This project was implemented and co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the emergency assistance program 2014 of Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

The project aimed at building human resources and care related capacities in the reception facilities, as well as enhancing reception capacities of the centers, and at the same time, processing the considerable backlog of asylum cases to ensure the proper performance of the Hungarian asylum and reception system.   

 

 

Main Actions

 

 

Within the framework of this project, human resources capacities were enhanced by hiring caseworkers to support the registration of asylum seekers and the preparation of cases for decision, and social assistants. At the reception facility of the Bicske Reception Center based in Debrecen apartment blocks were constructed in order to increase its reception capacities to be able to accommodate asylum seekers, mainly asylum seeking families. In addition, at the sites in Debrecen and Bicske public utilities were installed to ensure conditions for the later installation of rented prefab units. Besides these, obsolescent furniture, household and kitchen items were replaced, and due to increased capacities, new items were procured. To be able to transport asylum seekers for registration and reception purposes, buses were hired, and to ensure the timely processing of the backlog of cases, human resources and ICT capacities were also enhanced.

RECOVERY OF THE STANDARD OF THE ASYLUM AND RECEPTION SYSTEM

 (EMA/2013/Emergency-02)

Project Aims

 

This project was implemented and co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the emergency assistance program 2013 of European Refugee Fund.

The project aimed at building human resources and care related capacities in the reception facilities, as well as renovating the onsite building complexes, and at the same time, processing the considerable backlog of asylum related cases to ensure the proper performance of the Hungarian asylum and reception system.   

 

 

Main Actions

 

Within the framework of this project, to be able to cope with the increase in the number of asylum seekers social assistants and administrative staff were hired in Bicske. To ensure the proper and timely processing of the backlog of cases and the new asylum applications, at OIN’s headquarters and OIN’s Regional Directorates compulsory overtime work was ordered. At the Vámosszabadi site, the previously damaged sanitary blocks were restored, whereas at the Reception Center in Bicske, buildings related to care were refurbished, used and obsolescent equipment and tools were replaced and a canteen area was opened.

Please be informed that you may request the issuance of your residence permit under transitional provisions of the new aliens policing legislation on the admission and residence of third-country nationals for one of the legal titles as per the new aliens policing legislation if you are a holder of a valid residence permit under the previous legislation. Please note that only applications for the issuance of a residence permit may be submitted in person or via the Enter Hungary system. The extension of a residence permit is not allowed under the transitional rules. An application for the issuance of a residence permit may be submitted 45 days before the date of expiry of the residence permit the soonest. In case of residence permits expiring between 1 March 2024 and 1 April 2024, an application for the issuance of a residence permit is to be submitted the latest on the last day within the validity period of the residence permit concerned.
